1. Supporting a nutritional food parcel scheme to assist indigent patients
to comply
with their specific renal diets.
2. Assisting patients financially in starting small businesses.
3. Providing bursaries for patients to continue their studies.
4. Making funds available to the social workers at Groote Schuur,
Tygerberg and Red Cross Hospitals to aid needy renal patients.
5. Assisting with funding for upgrading renal units and in providing
equipment such as TVs, Radios and hairdryers.
6. Providing public education by means of exhibitions in shopping
centres and distribution of pamphlets and brochures.
7. Assisting with funding to send renal care personnel to renal
congresses to improve their knowledge.
8. Co-managing the Hermanus and Vredenburg Dialysis Units in partnership
with the local communities and the private dialysis services providers. to allow access for indigent patients in these
rural areas , to have dialysis closer to their places of homes.
9. Ongoing asssitance in private-public partnerships with nephrology service
providers to broaden the access to dialysis services.
10. Assisting with the training of nephrology nursing sisters.
11. Doing regular patient support groups with use of speakers in the various fields
of treatment related to renal disease.
